“In New York, ideas and stimuli constantly hit your imagination and thirst for creating. If I were to follow through with the book, I could probably paint a scarf every day for the rest of my life and still not see all my ideas through.” – Stephanie Podasca

I am very excited about this post and have been looking forward to introducing one of my new favorite artists/ designers.  Meet Stephanie Podasca: an FIT alumni and artist turned silk scarf designer. During her last semester at FIT, Stephanie took a silk painting course and found her passion: creating one-of-a-kind, custom wearable pieces of art. Every scarf is hand-painted and dyed with multiple colors, geometric and figurative shapes, and patterns.  I love how unique they are. There is nothing better than owning something that no one else has, especially something this beautiful.  They would compliment any outfit and make a great colorful, fun statement.  I still cannot decide which one to buy! They make me happy and one of her scarves would be a perfect (and necessary) addition to my wardrobe.  I truly believe that Stephanie is on to success and I look forward to watching her career blossom.  Cheers, Stephanie! Keep up the good work and I admire you for following your passion.

Every scarf is 100% pure crepe silk, painted with Sennelier silk dyes. Stephanie use a classic steaming technique which beyond setting the dyes so they do not bleed, retains the luster and smoothness of the natural silk.
